Paul Bernard McKenna, 58, formerly of Concord died unexpectedly Tuesday March 4, 2014 in Gardner. Born in Boston on November 22, 1955 he was the son of Florence (Kelly) McKenna and the late Thomas A. McKenna of Concord. He attended Concord public schools and was a 1974 graduate of Concord-Carlisle High School where he lettered in Track and Field and also played ice hockey and football. From 1975 until 1977 he served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Spiegel Grove. Following military service, he attended Boston State College where he majored in Para-Legal studies. For several years he worked as a Real Estate property manager in the Gardner area. In addition to his mother Florence, survivors include four brothers, Thomas A. McKenna Jr. and his wife Pam of Chelmsford, David D. McKenna and his wife Laura of Concord, John R. McKenna of Concord and William J. McKenna and his wife Tina of Marstons Mills. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Siobhan, Katie, Michael, David, Jimmy, Shayne, Billy and Kelly. Concord's town flag will fly at half-staff on Saturday March 15th in recognition of Mr. McKenna's service to his country in the U.S. Navy.
Cemetery:
Interment with military honors will follow in the family burial plot in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord.
Visitation:
Visitation will be held Saturday March 15th in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center from 10 to 10:45 am.
Service:
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday March 15th at 11 am in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center.
