Paul English, 82, of Concord, Massachusetts died on March 11, 2021. He was the beloved husband for 58 years of Linda (Daffinee) English, and the loving father of Alanna C. English, wife of Cory Carlson of Prescott, AZ, and Paul C. English of Nashua NH.
Paul was born in Brockton, MA on January 4, 1939, as the son of the late John E. English and Christine Beecher English. He is survived by his brother John English and his wife Therese of Braintree, MA, as well as his sisters-in-law, Susan Hoover of Silver Spring, MD, Joan Thelin of Keller, TX, and Gail Sherman of Stoneham, MA, his nephews, John G. English, William Sherman, Will Thelin, Matthew Sherman, Rich Sherman, and nieces, Daphne Will, Susan Murphy, G.J. Thelin, and Carrie Hassall.
Paul grew up in Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served as a Second Lieutenant in the Army Armor Division in Fort Knox, KY. Following discharge, Paul received his MBA from Boston College Carroll School, and a JD from Suffolk Law School.
His business career began with technical computer positions with Unisys (Univac) and engineering positions at Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation. When Paul received his MBA, he transitioned to management at Stone and Webster Service Corporation, where he provided financial support for utility clients.
Paul's 17-year career at Polaroid was focused on marketing, sales, and lobbying support for business development of government markets. After receiving Polaroid's voluntary severance plan, he continued to pursue a high tech career in sales through government markets at Prime Computer, Platinum Technology and Oracle.
Early retirement presented Paul with the opportunity to practice law. Paul had a private practice that concentrated on tort and real estate law, and he taught a course on Export Licensing for high technology products at Suffolk Law School.
Paul and Linda moved to Concord in 1964. He served on the Concord Municipal Light Board from 1983 to 1989. In his leisure time, Paul enjoyed sailing his boat from Allen's Harbor in Harwich, MA, traveling with friends to the National Parks and tours in European countries.
Relatives and friends will gather for Paul's Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 27th at 10 am in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center.

. Burial will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord. At the family's request, visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home are private.
