On Sunday, November 1, 2020, Patrick Mahicka, loving husband, son, father of four children, relatives and friends to many, passed away in a car accident at the age of 33. Patrick was born on January 31, 1987 in Toulouse, France to Maria Rosa da Lomba and Vincent Mahicka. He lived most of his life in Praia, Cabo Verde, where he attended Abilio Duarte Secondary School. In college, he studied engineering and business at Montgomery College, University of Maryland. On December 20, 2005 he married Tania Portolano. They had four children: Aliyah (now 12 years old), Leanna (9), Milana (6), and a nine-month-old son, Liam. Patrick was a gentle and devoted family man who delighted in playing with his children and supporting the dreams and career goals of his wife and friends. He was fluent in Portuguese, Cabo Verde Creole, French, English, and Spanish, and enjoyed befriending people while speaking all these languages. He was a tireless worker who never gave up on his dreams, and he played a great game of basketball. Patrick is survived by his wife, his mother, and his four young children. Due to COVID restrictions, a private funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning, November 6th at Holy Family Parish in Concord, MA. You may connect to the live stream below.
