Obituary

It is with great sadness that Otto Judicke, resident of Carlisle, passed away from melanoma on July 7, 2021 at the age of 59. Otto grew up in Rutherford, New Jersey, in the shadow of Giants Stadium. In 1991, Otto and his wife Sandra moved to Brook Street in Carlisle, Massachusetts, and they have enjoyed life in this quiet town ever since. Otto graduated from Vassar College in 1984. His college experience was formative and Otto graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics. Otto went on to earn his masters and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from Florida Institute of Technology. Otto completed a fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at New England Rehabilitation Hospital in 1991. Otto was a consultant for many years for the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission and he worked as a neuropsychologist until 2020. More than anything, Otto loved his family and friends. Gerda and the late Otto Judicke were Otto's loving and inspirational parents. He met his sweet, thoughtful and beautiful wife, Sandra Suduikis, while working at New England Rehabilitation Hospital and they were married at a lovely bayside ceremony in Cohasset in 1995. Two years later, Otto and Sandra were blessed by the arrival of their greatest joy, Katrina. Katrina is the light of their lives and like sunshine, she brightens everyone she encounters and every place she goes. Otto was gifted for many years with remarkably close relationships with his brother, Paul, sister-in-law, Milla, and two nieces, Sophia and Olivia. They shared vacation homes and holidays, and spent many hours talking, laughing and playing board games. He enjoyed warmth and adventures with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Britt and Ruta, parents-in-law, Jolyta and the late Victor, nieces, Julia and Melissa, and his nephew, the late Christopher. Together they traveled, hiked and shared heartfelt holidays and meals. Otto is forever connected with friends from the neighborhood where he grew up, and from Vassar college. He has maintained a special bond with this exceptional group of friends for 40-50 years. Otto enjoyed many activities. He was actively involved with Trinitarian Congregational Church in Concord. He ran a half-marathon in a different state every spring. Otto hiked with dear and generous friends during the summer and fall. It is through effort and with pride that he made it to the top of 38 of New Hampshire's 4000 footers (nearly all of these hikes were alongside Katrina). Otto played Texas hold-em with a longtime group of friends, and he loved the playful competitiveness and genuine camaraderie. For many years, he coached Carlisle youth sports. Especially when younger, Otto played many team sports. Favorite vacations included trips to Iceland, Australia and the U.S. national parks. Otto will be forever remembered for his genuine kindness. He was inclusive and consistently welcomed people to join together. Otto was empathic and he had an exceptional amount of insight and wisdom. Otto's keen sense of humor, creativity, sense of adventure, and perhaps most importantly, non-judgmental nature, helped make every moment with him truly special. Otto was loved by many. Otto was grateful for heartfelt relationships with his beloved family, wonderful friends, work colleagues, Trinitarian Congregational Church, and the Town of Carlisle. A private memorial service will take place for immediate family at Trinitarian Congregational Church in Concord. A public celebration of Otto's life and service of remembrance will be held this fall. In lieu of flowers, contributions to honor Otto's memory may be made to Appalachian Mountain Club , 10 City Square, Suite 2, Boston, MA 02129, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute , P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284, or Care Dimensions Hospice , 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923. Arrangements are under the care of Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
