Norah Dow Soong, 97, of Boston, died Monday, June 17, 2013 at Life Care Center of Acton. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Wong Soong. Born in Boston on November 9, 1915 she was the daughter of the late Hom Soon and Alice (Chin) Dow. She attended Boston public schools and graduated in 1933 from Girls High School in Boston. For many years, prior to her retirement, Mrs. Soong was the owner and operator of The Lung Tze Antique Shop on Charles Street in Boston. Previously, she worked as a waitress at the South Seas Restaurant in Chinatown, where she was an owner. An avid reader, she was a member of The Thought Club in Hyde Park. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, Chinese brush painting, knitting, crocheting, tatting, weaving and listening to all types of cool jazz. She was a faithful member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Hyde Park. She was a resident of Hyde Park, until 1987 after moving from Madison, Connecticut. She lived in Fairfax, Virginia from 2003 until 2011 where she was a member of the Truro Anglican Church. Most recently she was a resident of the LifeCare Center of Acton. Survivors include two daughters, Susan W. Eng and her husband Wayne of Fairfax, VA and Sharon E. Soong and her husband Edward Lyon of Westford, 4 granddaughters, Deborah Richter of Burke, VA, Lucinda Eng Garcia of Washington, DC, Sara Littlecrow Russell of Amherst and Liana Muennich of Georgetown, MD, and 11 great grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Harry, Howard and Hamilton Dow, Nellie Jayne and Nettie Haw.

Burial will take place after the service in Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 24rd at 11 AM in The Lucy Stone Chapel of Forest Hills Cemetery, 95 Forest Hills Ave., Boston, MA 02114.
