Obituary

Nellie (Yanuskiewicz) Palmaccio, 97, of Concord, died Friday, June 21, 2013 at Emerson Hospital in Concord. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Palmaccio who died in 2002. Born in Maynard on January 2, 1916 she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Martha Yanuskiewicz. She attended Maynard public schools and Maynard High School. For many years, prior to her retirement, Mrs. Palmaccio worked in the Concord public schools. Following her marriage in 1940, she moved to Concord where she made her home and lived independently for the past seventy-five years until her death at the age of ninety-seven. Over the years, she enjoyed vacationing at Cape Cod, bowling, dancing, cooking and canning foods fresh out of her husband's garden. An avid sports fan, she was a faithful follower of the Boston Red Sox. She was the mother of Mary Jean Palmaccio of Maynard, Linda Palmaccio and her husband Daniel Resler of Carlisle and the late Raymond J. Palmaccio and his surviving wife Leona Palmaccio of Acton, the grandmother of Melissa, Jessica, Rachel, Matthew and Stephen. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren, her loving caregiver Linda Johnson of Billerica and all her wonderful neighbors on Maple Street, including Michelle and Bob Windhiem. She was the sister of the late Mary Hayes, John Yanuskiewicz, and Wasil J. Yanuskiewicz. Funeral will be held on Friday, June 28th from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center at 9 am followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center at 10 am. Burial will be in the family burial plot in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 27th from 4 to 7 PM at the Dee Funeral Home. Contributions in her memory may be made to Concord Friends of the Aging, 1276 Main Street, Concord, MA 01742-3027. Arrangements are under the care of Susan M. Dee and Charles W.
