Natalie M. (Merenda) Cook, 97, of Concord, died on March 3, 2022 at Rivercrest Wellness and Rehabilitation Center. She was the beloved wife for 74 years of the late Clarence E. Cook who died in 2019.
Born in Everett on December 25, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Sarah (Leno) Merenda. She graduated early from Everett High School to work as a Secretary for the government during World War II. A wonderful dancer, she took special interest in ballet, and was tap dancing well into her eighties. She loved crossword puzzles, scrabble, musical theatre, roller-skating, bingo and travelling.
She and Clarence retired to Lake Worth, Florida for 16 years, before returning to Massachusetts in 2013 as residents of Newbury Court in Concord. Natalie embodied a lifelong dedication to her family as a treasured wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She leaves behind her devoted daughter, Janice Micarelli and her husband Robert of Carlisle, a daughter-in-law, Deborah Waldman of FL, three granddaughters, Jennifer Webb, Allison Sokoloff and Lindsay Bennett, three great grandchildren, Logan, Paul and Ava, one step grandchild, Kendra Waldman, a sister, Marilyn D'Avanzo, along with many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Gary Paul Cook, and sister of the late Peter and Francis Merenda.
Family and friends will gather for a period of visitation on Monday, March 7th from 9 to 9:45 am in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
