Murvale H. Moore Jr., died Thursday, August 8, 2013 in his home, surrounded by family. He was 90 years old. Raised in Florida, "Murv" was homeschooled by his mother through his high school years. A World War II veteran, he served in the Air Force as an aircraft electrician while stationed in England. Under the G.I. Bill, he earned a college degree at the University of Southern California, where he met his wife of 62 years, NeGarre Heshmat. The couple moved to Cambridge where Murv earned a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering at MIT. Settling first in Waltham and later in Lincoln, the two raised their family. After a successful career with Raytheon, he retired to pursue volunteer work with various causes, including Campaign Finance Reform, Habitat for Humanity and making deliveries for Meals on Wheels. He was also a contributor for several years to a weekly column in the Lincoln Journal. Murv is survived by his younger brother Robert Moore and his family of Americus, Georgia. Pre-deceased by his eldest son, Neil, he is survived by Neil's wife Lauren, and two grandchildren: Jonathan and Keith Moore, all three living in California. Murv also leaves his wife NeGarre, three children: Dean Moore of Ashby, MA, Laila Moore Niles of Arlington, MA, Pari Moore of San Francisco, CA, and four additional grandchildren: Owen and Drew Niles, as well as Jasper and Solana Stewart. Visitation: Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 11th from 3 to 6 pm in the DEE FUNERAL HOME OF CONCORD, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center.
