Morley J. Lush, 93, died peacefully July 11, 2012 in Concord at the age of 93. He was the beloved husband for 63 years of Mary (Nutter) Lush, father of Susan M. Lush and her husband Robert A. Cook of Dorchester and Allen M. Lush and his wife Gail of Boxborough, grandfather of Stephen, Robert and David Lush, all of Boxborough and brother of Ruby Loomis of Syracuse, New York. Born in Cambridge on March 2, 1919 he was the son of the late Arthur and Alice (Burroughs) Lush. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1937 and received a Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Harvard University in 1941 and 1948. He was the chief Engineer and President of Rawson Lush Instrument Company, a maker of scientific instruments for over 40 years in Acton, MA. He was the former organist and choir director for the Church of the Good Shepherd in Acton, a bell-ringer at Christ Church in Cambridge, and producer of the radio show "The King of Instruments" on WCRB for decades. A longtime resident of Concord, he was an avid vegetable gardener, amateur astronomer, and hiker of the White Mountains. He was also an active member of the Acton Historical Society and the American Guild of Organists. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 11th at 10:30 AM in Church of the Good Shepherd, 164 Newtown Road, Acton. Private interment will be held in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord.
