Michael F. Laughlin, age 88, of Concord, died Wednesday, November 18th at CareOne at Concord. He was the beloved husband for 58 years of Barbara (Wolters) Laughlin of Concord. Born in Queens, New York on November 7, 1927 he was the son of the late Michael Francis Laughlin and Florence (Kennedy) Laughlin. He attended public schools in Queens, graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1945, and studied at Queens College. Prior to becoming a Hingham, Mass. resident in 1967, Mr. Laughlin was an auto mechanic for the Long Island Lighting Company. For several years, prior to his retirement, he worked as a proofreader in the printing industry at Spencer Press in Hingham. He was a devoted former volunteer for Hingham Youth Baseball, Pop Warner Football and Hingham Gridiron Club. In addition, he served as a Scout Leader for the Hingham Boy Scouts. A Concord resident since 1997, he was an avid reader, and enjoyed watching old movies and listening to oldies music. He was predeceased by his son, Kevin Michael Laughlin. Survivors include his wife, Barbara, his children, Jeffrey Alan Laughlin of Chelmsford, Randall Bryan Laughlin and his wife Lynnann of Carlisle, and Matthew James Laughlin and his wife Janine of Boulder, CO, and his grandchildren, Shannon, Colleen, Brendan, Patrick and Gregory Laughlin, and Katherine and Michael Laughlin. Private family services will be held. Michael was a die-hard Red Sox fan.
