Mary B. (DeSimone) Senese, age 90, a Concord resident for 60 years, died at Emerson Hospital on January 7, 2021. She was the wife of the late Henry C. Senese who died in 1990.
Born on January 20, 1930, Mary was the daughter of the late Michael and Camille (Guarente) DeSimone. She graduated from high school in Revere as a member of the National Honors Society, and subsequently attended Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School.
Prior to retirement, Mary was an Interior Designer, a Bank Teller for Hudson National Bank, a Personal Service Representative at Shawmut Bank, an Administrative Assistant, as well as President/Director of Sales and Marketing for the Senese Sport company.
She served as Chair for the Parents Association and was an Annual Fund Ambassador for Gould Academy in Bethel, ME. Her unwavering volunteerism and commitment to the Academy earned her the 1998 Michael S. Stowell Volunteer Award, which she was proud to receive.
Mary was a Trustee and Chairperson for the Fundraising Committee at Brooks School of Concord, and Past President of the Concord Ski Club and Concord Thrift Shop. She was also a U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association (USSA) delegate to the 1980 Winter Olympics.
Family and friends will fondly remember Mary for her love of entertaining, cooking, sewing, gardening, and knitting. An avid sports fan, she loved watching tennis and football.
Mary was the beloved mother of Paula S. Mansfield of Middlefield, CT, Pamela M. Senese and her husband Kevin J. Coakley of Wellesley, MA, Paul H. Senese of Stratton Mountain, VT, and Pia Senese of Concord, MA. She was the proud grandmother of Alexandra S. Mansfield and her husband Brett Morris, Christopher L. Norton, Tucker W. Norton and Henry P. Senese.
Mary's family will gather privately in the Dee Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 12th, followed by a private burial service at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord.
