Mary Calista (Clear) Robinson, recently of Boston, formerly a long-time resident of Concord, died on August 5, 2017.
Born September 22, 1923 in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine Clear.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Joanne Hemenway of Boston, her two granddaughters, Bonnie Hemenway and Kory Hemenway and her three great grandsons, Cameron Ripley, Owen Ripley, and Caden Tompkins. Mary was the sister of the late Elizabeth (Clear) Larisey, Walter Clear, Katherine (Clear) Gunning, and Anne (Clear) Fleming. She is survived by one brother, Thomas Clear of Lexington, and several nieces and nephews.
Beginning in 1955, Mary made her home in Concord where she lived for 57 years. From the beginning, she loved the town of Concord and recognized what a special gift it was to live in such a lovely place.
For many years she worked at Middlesex Insurance Company, and then subsequently at Sentry Insurance Company, where she continued until her retirement in 1988.
Among the many joys of her life over the years were her Irish heritage, her extended family, her granddaughters and great grandsons, the parakeets she taught to talk, train trips to Rockport, and music…always music….including her organ which she so enjoyed playing. Her quiet and gentle ways will always be remembered by family and friends alike.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 8 from 4 to 7pm at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 9 10:30am at Holy Family Parish, Concord followed by a procession to the gravesite for burial in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
