Mary McAvenia

Mary (Binks) McAvenia, of Concord, died peacefully at her home on April 14, 2026, following a period of declining health. She was 96.

Mary was born on May 4, 1929 as the daughter of the late Herbert and Margaret (Dean) Binks. She was raised in York, England before moving to the United States at the age of twenty. She settled in Concord as a newlywed in the early 1950’s and raised her family. 

For over 30 years, Mary was employed for Nuclear Metals in Concord. She was an avid and talented baker, quilter and sewer. She will also be remembered for her longtime love of travel.

Mary was the mother of Marie McAvenia of California, Patricia Hathaway and her husband Richard of Townsend and Anne McAvenia of Concord. She was the Grandma of Christopher Hathaway, Andrew McAvenia and Christine McAvenia and Great Grandma to Mackenzie Hathaway. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond McAvenia, and two children, Michael and Margaret McAvenia. 

At Mary’s request, services and interment will be private.
