Kjellander, Mary H., 91, of Lincoln, died Sunday, May 27, 2012 at The Atrium at Drum Hill in Chelmsford. Born on June 29, 1920 in Morganton, North Carolina she was the daughter of the late Joel and Mary (Haddock) Kjellander. She attended Braintree public schools, graduated from Braintree High School and Bridgewater State Teachers College in 1942 where she majored in social studies. For many years, prior to her retirement, Miss Kjellander was the co-owner, along with her brother, James, of the Derby Jewelry Store in Harvard Square, Cambridge. A longtime Lincoln resident, she was a Communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Lincoln where she was an active member of the Legion of Mary. An avid bowler, she was a member of St. Joseph's Bowling League. An accomplished artist, she also enjoyed photography, sewing, line dancing, watching the PGA Golf Tournaments and collecting Hummel figurines and ceramic birds. She was a member of the Council on Aging Walking Club in Lincoln. Survivors include many cousins. She was the sister of the late Joseph E. 'Joe Joe' Kjellander, William David Kjellander, KIA, US Army, WW II, and James C. Kjellander. Funeral will be held on Friday, June 1st from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford St., Concord at 8:45 AM followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church, 142 Lincoln Road, Lincoln at 10 AM. Interment will follow at 1 PM in Blue Hill Cemetery, 700 West Street, Braintree. Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM.
