Mary Kottmann McHale Frascella, 93, formerly of West Hempstead, Long Island, NY and Plymouth, MA, died April 22, 2018 at Bethany Health Care Center in Framingham, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late William P. McHale.
Born in Queens, New York City on August 24, 1924, she was the daughter of the late William Kottmann and Agnes (Rochford) Kottmann. She attended New York City parochial schools, graduated from Bishop McDonald High School and Paine Hall School for Medical Assistants in New York.
Mary was a resident of West Hempstead, Long Island, New York from 1959 until 1989. She was a Catholic woman who was devoted to her husband and their seven children. Music was part of Mary's soul and sustained her till the very end. She loved to dance, paint and enjoyed the creative arts, which led her to start a floral decorating business in the 1970's. She learned to play golf and a few years later became the club champion. She was known as a compassionate, dignified woman who cared about people and someone that excelled in all her endeavors.
She resided on Cape Cod and then Plymouth, MA where she enjoyed her retirement years until she entered Bethany HealthCare in December 2016.
Survivors include her seven children, Maureen Stachowicz Master and her husband John, Jr. of Haddonfield, New Jersey, William P. McHale, Jr. and his wife Ellen of Concord, MA, Dennis K. McHale and his wife Barbara of Baldwin, New York, Timothy F. McHale and his wife Jane of Brighton, MA, Christine Samolyk and her husband Brian of Londonderry, New Hampshire, Brian McHale of Merritt Island, Florida and Kevin McHale and his wife Wendy of Sugarland, Texas; her 13 grandchildren, Meredith, Brendan, Liam, Erin, Justin, Jonathan, Danny, Michael, Emily, Katie, Gabe, Brian and Allie and 8 great grandchildren, Lincoln, Cedric, Olivia, Sophia, Zachary, Trea, Juniper, Ellie, and one brother, Gerald Kottmann of Bourne, MA and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Joan Tagle, Claire Clemente, Eugene Kottmann and William Kottmann.
Family and friends will gather for visiting hours on Friday, April 27th at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord, MA from 5 to 8 pm. Additional visiting hours will be held in the Dee Funeral Home on Saturday morning, April 28th from 9 to 10:30 am, followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center, at 11am. Burial in Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, New York alongside her husband William, will be held this summer.
