Obituary

Mark A. Levinson, a devoted educator, of Boynton Beach, FL, formerly of New York, NY, died in Framingham, MA on Monday, January 27, 2020. He was 85. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on February 6, 1934 to his late parents, Morris and Martha (Porosoff) Levinson. Mark cherished his role as a New York City public school teacher for many years. His talent and passion for teaching was recognized with several honors and accolades throughout his career. Mark will be remembered for his lifelong passion for cars, especially treasuring his re-issued Volkswagen Beetle. He loved music, was an avid sports fan, particularly basketball, and had a keen sense of adventure. He was the loving uncle of Shelley Brown and her husband Richard of Concord, MA, Mitchell Sternbach and his wife Anne of Albany, NY, Ritchard Sternbach and his wife Melissa of Attleboro, MA, Dr. Toby and her husband Dr. Joseph Trompeter of Pittsburgh, PA, Marvin Scheinbart and his wife Carol of Chelmsford, MA, as well as many grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins. Mark was predeceased by his twin sisters, Caroline Sternbach and Shirley Scheinbart. Family members gathered for a private funeral service on Wednesday, January 29th in the Farrar Chapel of the Dee Funeral Home, with burial following at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (www.mskcc.org). Arrangements are under the care of Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
