Marjorie A. (Delaney) Nickerson, 85, of Maynard, formerly of Concord, died Friday, July 23, 2010 at Emerson Hospital in Concord.
Born in Webster on May 13, 1925 she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Meyer) Delaney. She attended Webster public schools and graduated from Bartlett High School in 1943.
For several years, prior to her retirement in 1992, Mrs. Nickerson was employed at the West Concord Pharmacy. Previously, during the 1960s, she worked as a waitress at Friendlys Restaurant, Brighams Restaurant and Woolworths Lunch Counter, all formerly located in Concord.
She was an active member of the Concord Council on Aging where she enjoyed many friendships. She was an avid reader, enjoyed dancing and playing bingo. She moved to Concord in 1951 and most recently was a resident of Maynard.
Survivors include 1 son, Richard S. Nickerson of Bethel, Vermont, 3 daughters, Marcia J. Sadlow of Concord, Nancy E. Elrod of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Lisa A. Janus of Richmond, Virginia, 3 grandchildren, Erica Operach of Nashua, NH, Jason Nickerson and Scott Nickerson, both of Bethel, Vermont and one great grandchild, Nathan Operach of Nashua, NH. She was also the sister of the late John Delaney of Webster and William Ponto of Charleton.

A Memorial service will be held on Friday, July 30that 11 AM in the West Concord Union Church, 1317 Main Street, Concord. Officiating will be The Rev. Dr. John Lombard of Concord.
