Marilyn Kistner Velardi, 65, of Concord, formerly of Hendersonville, NC, passed away on January 25, 2017 at the Walden Health & Rehab Center in Concord following a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
She was born in Bridgeport, CT on September 14, 1951, the daughter of the late James and Laura (Bedient) Kistner.
Raised in Concord, she attended Concord Carlisle High School and later moved to North Carolina. She returned to Concord following the passing of her husband of nearly forty years.
She will be dearly remembered as a woman of faith and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Some of her passions included reading the bible, gardening, cooking, and listening to good music.
Survivors include her daughter, Lea Velardi and her husband Jason of Bucksport, ME, her son, Gerald Velardi of Lunenburg, MA, her grandchildren, Anthony, Hannah, Benjamin, and Rebekah, three brothers, Jimmy, Mark, and David Kistner, and countless friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent Velardi, her brother, William Kistner, and her sisters, Patricia Mayo and Janice Pryor.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 8th from 5 to 7 pm, followed by a memorial service at 7 pm in the Farrar Chapel of the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center.
