Obituary

Marilyn M. Thiesse, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully on September 23, 2018 surrounded with love at the age of 65. Marilyn was born and raised in west-central Iowa and in 1975 she met the love of her life, Bryon Thiesse. On August 26, 1977 they married and lived for many years in eastern Iowa where they raised their family until relocating to Crystal Lake, Illinois in 1994. Marilyn worked steadfastly for almost 40 years as a legal secretary, most recently at the law firm Baker McKenzie in Chicago until her retirement in 2015. Following her retirement, she enjoyed traveling and spending time outdoors with her husband, volunteering at the Crystal Lake Food Pantry and CrossPoint Lutheran Church, and cherishing her time with family and friends. Above all else, Marilyn's impact to this world will continue on through the love and selflessness she imparted in the hearts of her children and grandchildren. Marilyn will always be remembered for her warmth, kindness, generosity, and fierce devotion to her family. Marilyn is survived by her husband Bryon; children Geoffrey (Laura) Thiesse, Jacqueline (Eman) Namati; grandchildren Lucas, Ryan, Laila and Elliot; siblings Susan (Ken) Bose, Debra (Doug) Hemphill, Jack (JoEllen) Hunter, and Pamela (John) Whelan. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, and many close relatives and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Fred R. Hunter and mother, Rosa (Carstens) Hunter.
