Marilyn J. (Powers) Hughes, age 54, of Concord, formerly of Arlington and Somerville, died on Friday, February 23, 2018 at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers, following a long illness. For 25 years, she was the wife of Robert Hughes.
Marilyn was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on July 28, 1963, the daughter of the late Robert and Jean (Keatley) Powers. She grew up in Somerville and Arlington, graduating from Arlington High School's class of 1981.
She was a longtime employee at Concord Teacakes and Haute Coffee in Concord, where she built wonderful friendships with many devoted customers.
In addition to her husband, Marilyn is survived by two sisters, Laura Powers of Salem and Nancy Powers of Ayer, one brother, Daniel Powers of Billerica, her niece, Charlotte Powers of Peabody, and her aunt, Paula Keatley of Bennington, VT. She was also the sister of the late Robert Powers.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, March 2nd from 4 to 8 pm in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center.
