Marilyn G. (Brown) Demers, 86, of Concord, formerly of Belmont, died Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Apple Valley Center in Ayer. She was the beloved wife for 63 years of the late Raymond L. Demers.
Born in Waltham, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Jessie (Rogers) Brown. She attended Belmont public schools and graduated from Belmont High School in 1946.
For many years, Mrs. Demers worked at the Concord Middle Schools and at Woolworth's Five and Ten-Cent Store in Concord Center. She also worked as a Noon Aide at the Thoreau School lunchroom.
A long time resident of West Concord, she was an active member of the West Concord Women's Club. She enjoyed art and taking classes in oil painting, upholstery, tole and leatherwork.
Survivors include her eight children, Jacqueline Evans and her husband Richard of Marion, Brian Demers and his wife Kim of Maine, Gary Demers and his wife Luann of Martha's Vineyard, Paula Demers of Maynard, Rita Mercer of Ashburnham, Diane Telford and her husband William of Littleton, Katherine Ramsden and her husband Scott of Ashburnham and Robert Demers and his wife Candi of Concord, 21 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and many niece and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Sylvia Ellis, Charles Brown and Roger Brown.
Funeral will be held on Thursday, October 1st from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center at 9:30 am followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish at St. Bernard's Church, Monument Square, Concord Center at 10:30 am.
Burial will be in the family burial plot in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord.
Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 30th from 4 to 7 pm.
