Marilyn J. Blunt, 71, of Concord died Monday April 12, 2010 at Concord Health Care Center. She was the fifteen-year companion of Daniel B. Monsen of Concord.
Born in Lowell on July 24, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Marion (Stevens) Blunt. She was raised in Billerica where she attended Billerica public schools, graduated from Howe High School in Billerica and Mt. Ida Junior College in Newton.
For forty-six years, prior to her retirement in 2003, Miss Blunt was employed as a Lab Technician in the Bacteriology Department at Winchester Hospital. Previously she worked at St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester.
A fifteen-year resident of Concord, she was an avid reader. A world traveler, she visited Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway and enjoyed cruises to Alaska, Prince Edward Island and Luxemburg.
In addition to her companion, Daniel, she is survived by a sister, Donna Heath of Tarpon Springs, Florida and two nephews, Kevin and Eric Shipp.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 17th from 9 to 11 AM at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center followed by a funeral service in the Farrar Chapel of the Dee Funeral Home at 11 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Lillian Warner of Concord.
Burial will be in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord where Rev. Warner will read the committal prayers.
