Marie L. (Landini) Ayer, 80 , of Concord died Friday March 26, 2010 at Concord Health Care Center. She was the beloved wife of 57 years of Major Willard F. Ayer, USMC (Ret.) whom she was married on September 12, 1953 at St. Bernard's Church in Concord..
Born in Somerville on October 19, 1929 she was the daughter of the late A. George Landini and Louise Marie (Salvo) Landini. She attended Concord schools and was a 1948 graduate of Concord High School where she lettered in cheerleading and field hockey.
For many years, she and her husband Major Willard F. Ayer, USMC, resided at several Marine Corps bases in Hawaii, Queens, New York, North Carolina and Georgia. She returned to Concord in 1969.
Mrs. Ayer was a former employee of the Mary Curtis Gift Shop and Kussin's Children's Shop, both in Concord. She was also an avid bridge player, golfer and loved to dance.
In addition to her husband , she is survived by her daughter Carolyn A. Conery and her husband Robert of Acton, three grandchildren, Ryan, Cara and Sean Conery, all of Acton and her brother Paul Landini and his wife Virginia of Concord. She was also the sister of the late Charlotte Marshall.
Funeral was held Thursday April 1st from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center at 9 am followed by a Blessing in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord at 10am.
Interment followed in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord.
Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home were Wednesday March 31st from 4 to 8 pm.
