Obituary

Marian passed away peacefully at VITAS Hospice near her home on Marco Island Florida. She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years Dr. Paul W. Cook Jr. and a brother William H. Miller of Pittsburgh , PA. Marian had two sons, Peter, wife Janet, John, wife Jean, and one daughter, Catherine. She was blessed with six grandchildren, Stephanie, Jason, Lesley, Danny, Christopher, and Nicholas as well as five great grandchildren. Marian was born in Whitewater, Wisconsin. She received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and later went on to earn her Master's degree in early childhood education from Wheelock College in Boston. With that degree, she enhanced many a young mind as a second and third grade teacher at Bowman elementary school in Lexington, MA. Marian resided in Lincoln, MA for over 50 years, enjoyed many summers on Martha's Vineyard and eventually called her winter residence on Marco Island home. Aside from her family, some of her many interests included travel, art, volunteer work, puzzles, and scrabble. Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to Patti Bourne, her companion, caregiver and our family's special angel as well as all the staff at VITAS Hospice. A memorial service will be held in the spring. Contributions in her memory may be made to the First Parish of Lincoln, P.O. Box 6218, Lincoln, MA 01773, or to the Friends of the Lincoln Council on Aging, c/o Lincoln Town Hall, 16 Lincoln Road, Lincoln, MA 01773. Arrangements are under the care of the Dee Funeral Home of Concord.
