Margaret J. "Peggy" (Flynn) Wright, 85, a lifelong Concord resident, died peacefully on Monday, August 28, 2017 in the company of her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Edward L. Wright, Sr., who died in 2003.
She was born on May 21, 1932, along with her twin brother William, to her late parents, Richard and Margaret (Loftus) Flynn. A member of Concord High School's class of 1951, she went on to graduate from the Massachusetts College of Art with a Bachelor in Fine Arts in 1955.
Mrs. Wright was formerly employed at Lincoln Labs, Concord Public Schools, and had a nineteen-year career at Concord Academy. For many years, she also enjoyed working at the Concord voting polls.
Her passion for fine art was invoked at an early age. As an extremely skilled portrait painter and calligrapher, Mrs. Wright shared her talents with several civic and charitable organizations.
She is survived by her children, Edward Wright, Jr. of Littleton; Meg Gaudet of Concord; James Wright of Bolton; Jane Scerra, and her husband Mark of Concord; her grandsons, Matthew Gaudet, and his wife Ashley of Pensacola, FL; Andrew Gaudet of Sacramento, CA; and Jack and Ethan Scerra, both of Concord; her great granddaughter, Elise Gaudet of Pensacola, FL; her brother, Robert Flynn, and his wife Jacqueline of Chelmsford, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William, Richard, and John Flynn.
Relatives and friends will gather for visiting hours on Thursday, August 31st from 4 to 8 pm in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Her funeral will take place on Friday, September 1st at 9 am from the Dee Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center. Burial will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Concord.
