Obituary

Margaret L. (McBreen) Ritchie, 88, of Concord died Saturday September 22, 2018 in Lincoln. She was the beloved wife of 56 years of the late William E. Ritchie who died in 2016. Born in Concord on September 3, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Carty) McBreen. She attended Concord schools and was a 1949 graduate of Concord High School. She later graduated from Katherine Gibbs School in Boston. She was married to Mr. Ritchie in 1960. Mrs. Ritchie retired in 1995 after 15 years of employment at the Middlesex County Extension Service in Concord and later in Waltham. A lifelong parishioner at St. Bernard's and later Holy Family Parish in Concord, she was a prefect in the Church Sodality, a C.C.D. teacher and a member of the Circle of Friends. In retirement she served as a tour guide at the historic Hancock-Clarke House in Lexington and as a volunteer at Emerson Hospital in Concord. She was the mother of Elizabeth A. Hill and her partner Robert Harrison of Plainville, William J. Ritchie and his wife Linda of Andover and Thomas H. Ritchie and his wife Debra of Darien, CT., grandmother of Shaun Hill and wife Lorri, Ryan Hill and wife Rachel, Leanne Hill, Alexandra, Patrick, Cameron and Caroline Ritchie, and Bridget, Jack and David Ritchie, and great grandmother of Abigail and Annabella Hill. She was also the sister of the late Mary Spencer, Elizabeth Healey, Catherine Hartnagel, Henry, John, Thomas and Joseph McBreen. Funeral will be held Wed. Sept. 26th from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford St., CONCORD CENTER at 9 am followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord at 10 am. Interment will follow in the family burial plot in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord. Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home will be on Tuesday Sept 25th from 5 to 8 pm.
