IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret "Meg" Kennard
Burt
September 29, 1944 – November 24, 2024
Margaret "Meg" Kennard Burt, 80, of Harvard, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024.
Born on September 29, 1944 in New York, NY, Meg was the youngest child of John H and Lydia L Kennard. She grew up in a loving household in Bedford, New Hampshire, had a strong connection with nature, as her parents were naturalists, attended school, and developed a passion for music.
Meg was known for her warmth, kindness, resilience and her ability to create beauty through her music and cooking. Her greatest expressions of love were through acts of service and thoughtful gifts. She had an incredible ability to remember others, ensuring they felt valued and cared for. She dedicated her life to music, her students, friends, family and devoted dogs.
She started her music career after completing Hollins University, and went on to graduate from New England Conservatory. Meg served as Organist and Choir Director at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit in Wayland, Massachusetts and occasionally played at Trinity Church in Concord where her husband was Assistant Minister. She taught at the Nashoba Brooks School of Concord and later Shady Hill School of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Expanding on her love of music, the arts and theater, Meg was also a founding member and music director of Act/Tunes (Concord Youth Theatre). Along with Meg's musical and performance creations, many of us will remember her fondness of cooking and baking. Whether it be cooking for a potluck or baking for her friends, her dishes were always filled with love.
Family and friends will gather for a memorial service in celebration of Meg's life at Trinity Episcopal Church, 81 Elm Street, Concord, MA on Tuesday, December 17th at 10 am. A private burial will follow at the Kennard family plot at Bedford Center Cemetery in New Hampshire. Please click here to view the video recording of Meg's service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Margaret Kennard Burt Memorial Fund in her honor
She will live on in our memories with the sights, sounds, and tastes of her creations. Our hearts still remember how she made all of us feel.
We love you Meg/Mom/Grandma.
Arrangements are entrusted to Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord, MA.
