Margaret M. (Connolly) Altman, age 90, of Concord, died peacefully on Thursday, February 25 at Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleton, MA. Marge was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Altman who died in 1996.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on January 26, 1926 she was the daughter of Patrick and Mary (McFarren) Connolly.
She was raised in Philadelphia and graduated from Little Flower Catholic Girls High School in 1943 and subsequently married her husband, Joseph, in 1947.
A West Concord resident since 2005, full-time since 2010, Marge previously resided in Churchville, PA, Newtown, PA, Long Beach Island, NJ, and Cape Coral, FL.
She was a communicant at Holy Family Parish in Concord and a former member at St. Francis of Assisi Parish on Long Beach Island, NJ and St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Fort Myers, FL. Marge enjoyed her work as a Eucharistic Minister on Long Beach Island and in Fort Myers. She and Joe were very involved in the St. Francis and St. Cecelia communities. She also had been a volunteer and supporter of the immigrant workers at the Guadalupe Center in Immokalee, FL.
Survivors include her children Joanne Syversen and her husband Bob of Cape Coral, FL; Kathy Altman and her spouse Ivy Schwartz of Tucson, AZ; Tom Altman of North Fort Myers, FL; Mary Ellen Lehmann and her husband Mike of New York, NY, and their children Rachel, Sarah Grace, Daniel, and Abigail; and Colleen White and her husband Jason of Acton, MA, and their children Julien, Connor, and Graham. She is also survived by her sister Sarah Lyons of Connecticut and her brother John (Mary) Connolly of Pennsylvania.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 29th at 10 am in Holy Family Parish, 12 Monument Square, Concord Center.
