IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marcia
Roehr
October 4, 1932 – January 23, 2025
Marcia (Adams) Roehr, age 92, a longtime Lincoln resident, passed away at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln on January 23, 2025. She was the wife of the late George L. Roehr.
She was born on October 4, 1932 as the daughter of the late Rolland and Pauline (Hombach) Adams. She grew up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and graduated from the National Cathedral School in Washington DC before earning an undergraduate degree from Wellesley College.
She met her husband George on a blind date while he was an MIT student. The couple began their married life living in Germany while George completed his military service. They eventually settled in Lincoln, where she has been a resident for over 60 years. She embraced being a member of the Lincoln community, a place where she raised three children and served as a dedicated volunteer at Codman Community Farms and the Old Town Hall Exchange. For many years, she worked as the Treasurer for Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School.
Marcia will be remembered as a fabulous athlete, always staying as active as she could. Her early love for tennis was unwavering until she took up golf in her sixties. And she truly enjoyed the mental athletics of a good round of Bridge or Gin Rummy, remaining a competitor to the end.
She will be missed by her three daughters, Cindy Anthony and her partner Ed Condict of New London, NH, Carol Roehr and her husband George Fowler of Lyme, CT and Betsy Lord and her husband Mike of Wilmington, NC, her four grandchildren, Katie Anthony, Megan Lord, Beck Lord and Sam Lord along with two great grandchildren, Caleb Hopps and Summer Williams. Marcia was preceded in death by her sisters, Ann Taylor and Mimi Bitzer.
Marcia will be laid to rest during a private burial service on January 27, 2025 at the Lincoln Cemetery. A Remembrance Gathering is being planned for the spring.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Codman Community Farms or a charity that is meaningful to you.
Arrangements are entrusted to Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
