Madeline (MacDowell) Inman, 94, of Concord, died Saturday, October 24, 2015 at RiverCourt Residences in Groton. She was the beloved wife of the late James J. Inman, Jr. They were married in 1946.
Born in Malden on February 12, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Harold V. and Ruth C. (Dolan) MacDowell. She grew up in Malden, attended Malden public schools and graduated from Malden High School in 1940 and went on to graduate from the Boston School of Dental Nursing in1942.
A resident of Concord since 1954, her first love and priority was her husband and family. A long time member of Massachusetts Audubon Society she had a great love of wild birds and nature, as well as a passion for gardening.
Survivors include her daughter, Claudia Desrosiers and her husband James of Groton, her son, John Inman of New Hampshire, her grandchildren, David Comeau of Ashburnham, Sean Comeau and his wife Denise of Quincy, Brian Comeau and his girlfriend Stefanie Goslant of Boston, and James J. Inman III and his wife Sarah of Wisconsin, her great grandchildren, Trevor James Comeau of Ashburnham, Brodie James Inman and Eliana Rae Peskie-Inman, both of Wisconsin and her sister, Claire Wyman of Kennebunk, ME. She was also the sister of the late Robert MacDowell.
Visitation in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center will be held on Friday, October 30th from 1 to 3 pm followed by a funeral service at 3 pm in the Farrar Chapel of the Dee Funeral Home. The Rev. Howard N. Dana, Senior Minister of the First Parish in Concord will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery, in Concord.
