Lorraine (Cousins) Dean, 87, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Ellis Nursing Home in Norwood. She was the beloved wife for fifty-two years of the late William M. Dean. Born in Waltham on May 23, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Willis N. and Madeline (Millet) Cousins. She attended Lincoln schools and graduated from Waltham High School in 1945. For over thirty years, prior to her retirement, Mrs. Dean began working for the Town of Lincoln as a Dispatcher for the Lincoln Fire and Police Departments, then as Secretary to the Chief's, and later as Police Matron. She was a life-long member of St. Anne's in-the-Fields Episcopal Church where she sang in the choir. She was a longtime member of the Lincoln Grange where she served as Past Master, the Middlesex Central Pomona Council, the Massachusetts State Grange and the National Grange. Mrs. Dean enjoyed music and dancing. She wrote music and was the winner of the Massachusetts Grange Music Contest and designed a float for the State Grange. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia W. Harney and her husband John C. of Canton. She was also the mother of the late William M. Dean Jr. and the late Linda M. Dean and sister of the late Caroline J. Cousins. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 10th at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center from 4 to 8 PM. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 11th at 10 AM in St. Anne's in-the-Fields Episcopal Church, 147 Concord Street, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln.
