Lorraine A. (Capolino) Bonner, age 90, a longtime Concord resident, passed away in Acton on May 29, 2025. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Bonner, who died in 2009.
Born on March 8, 1935, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Marinucci) Capolino. As an only child, Lorraine cherished growing up with a large extended family, sharing close bonds with her cousins, aunts and uncles. She graduated from Brighton High School, and soon after, got married and started her family. In 1966, the growing family moved into a home on Hawthorne Lane in Concord, where Lorraine would reside for nearly 60 years.
A beloved matriarch, family was always at the center of Lorraine's life. She cared deeply about instilling important values and carrying on meaningful traditions such as hosting family gatherings, spending holidays together and utilizing her cooking talents with delicious, homemade dinners. Lorraine was very proud of her children and grandchildren. There were many special memories made during 20 years of family camping trips, including body surfing in the ocean with her grandchildren when they
were young and long leisurely swims in the clear lakes of New Hampshire. She relished time near the water.
She leaves behind two daughters, Lorraine Purinton and her husband Stephen of Concord and Kimberly Walsh and her husband Mark of Westford, her son, Christopher Bonner and his wife Wendy of Weare, NH, along with her grandchildren, Danielle Purinton, Elisa Gorham, Kerry Walsh and Michael Walsh. She was predeceased by her son, Robert L. Bonner, Jr.
Private funeral services will be held for Lorraine, followed by burial at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Concord.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Arrangements are entrusted to Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
