Linette (Leigh) Werner, 65, of Concord, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Mass General Hospital in Boston following a struggle with A.L.S. She was the beloved wife of Barry Werner. Born in Chicago, Illinois on August 16, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Howard Silberer and Ramona Leigh. She attended schools in Illinois and graduated from Evanston Township High School in 1964. A believer in life-long learning, in 2006 she received a bachelor degree (cum laude) from Harvard University in Cambridge where she studied Art History and Psychology. From 1973 until 1981, Linette worked as a interior decorator at Kaufmann's Department Store in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She enjoyed art history, interior design, psychology and visiting art museums. She traveled to France, Italy and extensively throughout the United States. A Concord resident since 1995, she previously lived in Maynard, Massachusetts, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Rochester, New York and Chicago Illinois. In addition to her husband, Barry, she is survived by her daughter, Lindsay Werner and her significant other, Dan Chretien, both of Cambridge, her brother-in-law, Stuart Werner of Oakland, CA, her sister-in-law, Joan Katz of Indianapolis, Indiana and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 19th from 2 to 4 PM followed by a remembrance ceremony at 4PM in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center.
