It is with heavy hearts that her family announces the sudden and unexpected passing of Linda Marie Robbins on May 23, 2026. Born on June 25, 1949, in Lowell, Massachusetts, she was the middle daughter of the late Donald and Evelyn LeRiche. She grew up with a spirit that was as warm as it was fierce, and those who knew her never forgot her contagious smile or the laugh that could fill a room even in the toughest of moments which included a fierce battle with breast cancer in which she won.
What began after graduating from Keith Hall became a 45-year career with the Concord, Massachusetts School System, where Linda touched the lives of countless students and families as a school bus driver. She knew her students by name, looked out for them like her own, and earned the deep trust of parents and children alike. Her dedication extended beyond the road, as President of the Transportation Union for many years, Linda was a tireless advocate, fighting not only for the rights and dignity of her fellow drivers, but for the safety of every child who stepped onto a bus.
Linda lived life with a full throttle. She had a deep love for fast cars, faster motorcycles, NASCAR, and anything with an engine. Her love of the open road led her on many adventures, none more memorable than a motorcycle trip through the Smoky Mountains with her life partner, David Woodward. When she wasn't on the road, she could be found enjoying the outdoors as an avid gardener and a proud member of the Appalachian Mountain Club.
Linda also had a remarkable eye behind a lens, and her photography captured the world with the same quiet attention she gave to the people she loved.
Animals held a special place in Linda's heart. She adored her dog Rocky and those who knew her have little doubt he was the first to greet her when she arrived in Heaven. Her cats, Willie and Doc, remain at home with David. Keeping him company, keeping her memory close, and no doubt keeping the house running just the way Linda would have wanted.
Linda is survived by her devoted life partner, David Woodward; her sister and brother-in-law, Sandra (LeRiche) and James Gibson; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her son Russell “Rusty” Gutknecht and her brother Donald LeRiche.
She was loved and respected by many, and the space she leaves behind is immeasurable.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Details will be announced when available.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Linda's memory to the ASPCA at www.aspca.org, in honor of her lifelong love and devotion to animals.
"Linda, we lost you, but we got to love you, we got to be loved by you, and even in our grief, we will forever be grateful for that."
Arrangements have been entrusted to Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord, MA.
