Laurie J. (Finnerty) Thompson, 70, of Concord, formerly of Carlisle and Waltham died Friday September 4, 2015 in Boston. She was the beloved wife of 50 years of Ronald G. Thompson. Born on January 4, 1945 she was the daughter of the late Gerard W. Finnerty and Jeanne (Kerwin) Finnerty. She attended Belmont schools, was a 1963 graduate of Belmont High School and later a graduate of Lasell College in Wellesley. She was actively involved in teaching bible study, choir, and public speaking at churches in Bedford and Carlisle. Mrs. Thompson was a former volunteer at the library at Concord-Carlisle Regional High School and has been a long time supporter of Hope International. Survivors in addition to her husband Ronald, include her two loving sons, Ronald G. Thompson Jr. of Haverhill and Gregory J. Thompson and his wife Heidi of Acton, her dear grandchildren, Jordan and Christopher Thompson of Acton, her brother Gerard W. Finnerty III of Weston and her sister-in-law Deborah Finnerty of Waltham. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are Wednesday September 9th from 4 to 8 pm at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford St., CONCORD CENTER. A funeral service will be held Thursday September 10th at 10 am in Carlisle Congregational Church, 147 School Street, Carlisle with interment following in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord.
