Lauren M. Porthouse, 45, formerly of Belmont, died suddenly on December 27, 2012. Born in Cambridge on May 9, 1967, she was the daughter of Suzanne M. Foley and her husband Jon Sirotof of Concord and the late Robert Porthouse of Belmont. She attended Belmont public schools and graduated in 1985 from Belmont High School. She received a bachelor degree from Framingham State College and received a Master's in Special Education from Simmons College. For many years, Lauren was a loving teacher and Director of A Place to Grow After School in Concord. She was a creative artist who loved photography and jewelry making. In addition to her mother, Suzanne and her stepfather, Jon, she is survived by three sisters, Leslie Carroll of Acton, Deborah Porthouse of Westford and Alexa Sirotof of Concord. She was also the beloved aunt of Jake and Sean Carroll and Alison Ames.

A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 30th at 2 PM in the First Parish in Concord, 20 Lexington Road, Concord Center.
