Laura C. (Polli) Biagioni, 88, formerly of Somerville, died on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was the devoted wife of the late Albert J. Biagioni who died in 1999.
She was born in Somerville on February 23, 1929, the daughter of the late Isadoro and Columba (Frizzi) Polli. During her youth, she attended Saint Catherine School in Somerville and Saint Clement High School in Medford.
Mrs. Biagioni was the proud owner of Mary's Lamb Knit Shop in Winchester, where she pursued her skilled knitting career and her love for teaching others how to knit. Her other passions included gardening and spending time at the ocean. A woman of strong faith, she was a devout parishioner for many years at St. Catherine Church in Somerville.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Mary T. Roberts and her husband Tom Roberts of Lincoln, her brother, John R. Polli of Colorado, two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Polli of Burlington and Olga Polli of Maine, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Leo, Curly, and Tony Polli.
Visiting hours are on Wednesday, May 3rd from 5 to 8 pm in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 4th at 11 am in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center. All are welcome to gather at the church on Thursday beginning at 10 am. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Boston.
