IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kevin Michael
Mcmorrow
May 11, 1955 – February 21, 2026
Kevin Michael McMorrow, resident of Alstead, New Hampshire and former resident of Sudbury, Massachusetts died suddenly from heart disease on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at his home at the age of 70.
He was born on May 11, 1955, in Brooklyn, NY to Alice (Brown) and John Michael McMorrow. Growing up, Kevin lived in Brooklyn; Staten Island, NY; Walpole, MA; Glastonbury, CT; and Dedham, MA.
Kevin's goals were to join the U.S. Army and be a father. By the age of 23, he had achieved both goals. He joined the Massachusetts National Guard at the age of 18 and 15 months later, he transferred to the U.S. Army. While in the Army, Kevin was stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana; Fort Carson, Colorado; Fort Wainwright, Alaska; Wiesbaden Air Base, Germany; Fort McClellan, Alabama; West Berlin, Germany; and discharged honorably from Fort Ord, California. He subsequently served many years in the U.S. Army Reserve based in Massachusetts.
Kevin would drive from Colorado to Massachusetts in his MGB pulling over for brief naps when he had leave. While in Alaska, Kevin and other uninjured soldiers rescued the injured from the badly damaged troop bus they were riding in. Kevin's responsibility while stationed in West Berlin in the 1970s during the Cold War was to help guard West Berlin from Communist incursion.
Kevin was a member of IBEW Local Union 104 in Massachusetts and New Hampshire since 1988. During his years as a heavy electrical power lineman, Kevin worked on a number of interesting projects including nuclear power plants, pole installation in the Adirondacks, and blizzard and hurricane storm duty across the country. Kevin was part of a caravan of bucket trucks and other equipment driven from New England to Louisiana and Mississippi after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. He spent weeks in the heat in dangerous conditions and loved it. Another aspect of his job that Kevin relished was training apprentices. While he had great stories to share with them, he also impressed safety standards on them.
Kevin was blessed with a son, Ryan Michael McMorrow and a grandson, Declan Michael McMorrow. When Ryan was born in Fort McClellan, Kevin called his own parents in Los Angeles crying with joy at how amazing his son was. Since becoming a single parent when Ryan was young, Kevin and Ryan enjoyed spending time together through adulthood. Their bond only grew with the birth of Ryan's son Declan who Kevin was able to spend 8 ½ years spoiling. Also adding love to Kevin's life was his late second wife Laura.
In addition to his son and grandson, Kevin leaves his mother Alice of Massachusetts and siblings Brian of Texas, Maureen of Massachusetts, John of California, and Elizabeth of Massachusetts. Kevin is predeceased by his wife Laura and father John Michael.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, March 1 from 5 to 8 pm at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord, MA. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 429 Great Road, Stow, MA on Monday, March 2 at 10 am. Burial will follow with U.S. Army military honors at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 329 Concord Road, Sudbury, MA, where he will be laid to rest with his late wife, Laura.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Kevin M. McMorrow to the IBEW Local 104 scholarship program, "Boyd/Loughran Educational Trust", which supports members' training in line construction and safety.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
