Kathleen M. Hughes, 78, of Concord, formerly of Sudbury, died Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Emerson Hospital in Concord. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Hughes, Sr. who died in 2010. Born in Somerville on March 23, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Helen G. (Walsh) Riemer. She attended St. Peter's Grammar School in Cambridge, graduated from Mt. Trinity High School in Watertown and attended Boston University. After raising her nine children, Mrs. Hughes worked as a sales associate at the former Honigsbaum's Clothing Store in Acton. She was a twenty-one year resident of Sudbury, before moving to Concord in 1997. She enjoyed gardening, antiquing, clothes and fashion, and was an avid reader. She is survived by her eight children, Mariclare TenPas and her husband Dr. John TenPas of Arlington, Hillary Hughes of Quincy, Allison Hughes-Zigelbaum and her husband Todd Zigelbaum and their children Zachary and Sophia of Beverly, Christine Horan and her husband Timothy Horan and their children Caroline, Kylie and Jackson of Medway, Heather Hughes of Melrose, Leslie Pierre and her husband Nady Pierre and their children Arianna and Daniella of Franklin, Patrick Hughes and his wife Brenda Hughes and their children Ryan, Jake, and Brady of Westborough, Diana Hughes-Moreira and her husband Jose Moreira and their daughters Raquel Vivienne and Gisele Eva of Melrose, sister of Nancy Robertson of Plymouth, Mary MacEachern of Swampscott, and Geraldine Riemer of Stony Brook, NY. She was the mother of the late John F. Hughes, Jr. and sister of the late Charles Riemer, Jr. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 10th in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery, Maynard.
