Katherine M. Kaye Gilfeather, 86, lifelong Concord resident, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Life Care Center of Acton. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert C. Gilfeather.
Born in Concord on April 22, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Robert W. and Annie T. (Carson) Parke. She attended Concord public schools and Concord High School.
Kaye worked in the hotel industry for many years from Winchendon, Massachusetts to Florida. She retired after thirty-three plus years of employment at the Colonial Inn in Concord.
A lifelong Concord resident, she enjoyed gardening, was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed vacationing in York Beach, Maine and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. Kaye enjoyed life to the fullest. She would remind us all that life is great".
Survivors include, 1 son, James C. Gilfeather of Concord, 2 daughters, Deborah Vernon and her husband Garry of Rochester, NY and Kathleen M. Denaro and her husband David of Stow, 8 grandchildren, Robert Gilfeather III, Molly Gilfeather, Nathaniel Gilfeather, Joshua Vernon, Patrick Vernon, Katherine Vernon, Jacob Denaro and Robert Denaro, 1 daughter-in-law, Catherine Gilfeather of New Bedford, 1 sister-in-law, Johanna Parke of Acton and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Robert C. Gilfeather, Jr.
