Katherine Krongard Baldelli, 70, of Marlborough, died peacefully on Thursday, January 14th at the Reservoir Center in Marlborough.
Born in Concord on September 15, 1945 she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Rushe) Krongard. In her youth, she resided in Concord and Wayland.
After attending Concord Public Schools, she studied at Assabet Valley Regional Vocational School and graduated from the nursing program.
A resident of Marlborough for over forty years, Kathy was formerly employed for several years as an Emergency Room Nurse at Marlborough Hospital.
As a talented writer, she was very proud when the book she wrote got published by Meriones Publishing; First Edition on Sept. 15, 2010. It could be found under the Amazon.com ISBN number 10:0976213958. Authoring this very well reviewed book was a gratifying accomplishment for Kathy.
Kathy's greatest joy was spending time with her two sons. She also had a very close relationship with her granddaughter, Kaleigh. An animal lover, she loved the companionship of her cats, Jimmy and Tyson, and her cockatiel birds. She also enjoyed playing Scrabble and Bingo, as well as keeping in touch with her many friends.
Survivors include her sons, Jason W. Smith of Maynard and Frank A. Smith of Marlborough, her grandchildren, Kaleigh Smith, Jordan Mitchell, and Paige Tautkas, her brother, Keith Krongard and his wife Joan of Hudson, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was also the sister of the late Georgia Phillips, Bernard "Chick" Krongard, and William "Dude" Krongard.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 22nd from 6 to 7:30 pm, followed by a funeral service at 7:30 pm in the Farrar Chapel of the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center.
Private family burial will take place at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord.
