Obituary

Karen Joan Russell, age 64, of Ocklawaha, FL, passed away on March 10, 2023 after a long battle with cancer.

She was born in Cambridge on July 31, 1958 to her late parents, James D. and Marguerite V. (McPartland) Russell and was pre-deceased by her younger brother Neal P. Russell. Karen grew up in Lincoln, MA and graduated from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School in 1976. In 1979 she moved to south Florida residing first in the Ft. Lauderdale area then moving to the Florida Keys where she spent over 30 years. In 2007, she received her Registered Nurse accreditation from Florida Keys Community College. She worked in the healthcare field for several years before founding and operating her own window tinting company called "Tint the Keys". She purchased a home in central Florida in 2020 and split her time between Tavernier in the Florida Keys and Ocklawaha, Florida.

Karen will be remembered as a free spirit with a giving nature who cherished many dear friendships during her life. She was an entrepreneur, a boating and motorcycle enthusiast, and an accomplished pianist as well as a loyal caregiver to her faithful canine companion, Clifford.

She leaves behind a brother, Jimmy Russell of Hudson, MA; a sister, Leigh Russell of Seabrook, NH; and countless friends.

Karen's life will be celebrated during a private funeral service at a later date. Burial will follow at Lincoln Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her parents and brother.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .

Local arrangements are under the care of Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
