June M. (Forcier) Whalen, a lifelong Concord resident, died peacefully at the age of 99 at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln on September 21, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter E. Whalen, who died in 2004.
She was born in Concord on August 14, 1922 as the daughter of the late Alpherie and Mabel (McBurnie) Forcier. June graduated with the class of 1940 from Concord High School.
For 32 years, prior to her retirement in 1981, June was employed by the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford. She was a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, and served as a former volunteer for the Concord Free Public Library, Meals on Wheels and the town's "Friendly Visitors" program.
June leaves behind several nephews and nieces including Linda Forcier of San Francisco, CA and Patricia Hill of St. Petersburg, FL, as well as several dear friends. She was predeceased by one brother, Raymond Forcier.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside service on Tuesday, September 28th at 11 am in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Bedford Street, Concord.
