Joseph Patrick Schmitt, age 20, of Atlanta, GA, formerly of Concord and Carlisle, died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 10th in Atlanta. Born in Greenville, SC on March 2, 1995 he was the beloved son of Thomas P. and Paula J. (Knighton) Schmitt. He attended Concord Carlisle High School, and most recently, was a student at ITT Technical Institute in Duluth, GA. A passionate musician, Joseph was a talented guitarist, keyboardist, percussionist, and pianist. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Anthony D. Schmitt and his wife Meghan of San Diego, CA, Nicholas D. Schmitt of Boston, MA, and Phillip J. Schmitt of Sanford, FL, his sister, Anna G. Schmitt of Arlington, VT, his grandparents, Leta D. Schmitt of Rochester, MI, and David E. and Joanne P. Knighton of Homosassa Springs, FL, his girlfriend, Jessica J. Vultaggio of Concord, MA, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was also the grandson of the late John S. Schmitt. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, January 16th from 3:30 to 6:30 pm in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Graveside service will be Sunday, January 17th at 2 pm in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Bedford Street, Concord.
