Joseph P. Gannon, 93, of Sandown, NH and Naples, FL, formerly of Concord, MA, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 following a battle with cancer. For nearly 70 years, he was the beloved husband of Rosemary (Murphy) Gannon. Born in Boston on January 23, 1924, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Gannon. He was a graduate of Boston English High School and Northeastern University. From 1943 until 1946, Joe proudly served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He had a successful career with AT&T in Boston for over thirty years, retiring as Regional Manager. A man with an unyielding work ethic, he entered real estate at a later age and sold hundreds of properties in New Hampshire's Rockingham County. He enjoyed spending several months a year at his residence in Naples, FL where he also sold real estate along with his son, Joseph III. Joe was a former member of the Concord Minutemen and active with the Concord, MA and Hampstead, NH Knights of Columbus. He loved his time spent on the golf course as well as bowling with local leagues. Both he and Rosemary were passionate participants for thirty years with the Acton Square Wheelers. He was a devoted husband, caring father, and proud grandfather. Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Joseph Gannon and his wife Kathleen of Naples, FL, Anne Scheer and her husband Marc of Concord, NH, Daniel Gannon and his wife Beth of Sandown, NH, and Senator Bill Gannon and his wife Janice of Sandown, NH, as well as nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, his brother, John Francis Gannon and his wife Shirley formerly of Norwood, his sister, Rosemarie Gannon of Tampa, FL, and dozens of nieces and nephews.
