Joseph Contino, 87, of Maynard passed away on December 1, 2025 in Bourne, MA surrounded by family.

He was the beloved husband for 62 years of Pauline Alessi Contino who passed away in 2024. Born in Regalbuto, Italy on Oct 19, 1938, he was the son of the late Venerando Contino and Elena Grazia Perra.

In 1961, he met and married Pauline, in Italy and immigrated to the US in early 1962. Shortly after arriving in the US, they moved to Maynard where they called home for over 63 years.

Joe became a US citizen and worked construction and masonry for all of his career. He had a strong work ethic and prided himself on mentoring and motivating others. There was no job that was too hard for him to undertake or complete.

Joe was a man of strong Catholic faith and a member of St. Bridget's Church in Maynard. He lived his life through prayer. He attended weekly Mass, liked to visit various churches and in later years viewed daily Mass on Catholic TV.

Joe loved life's simple pleasures such as spending time at home with his beloved wife Pauline. They were truly inseparable. They loved trips to various malls and restaurants, and went on multiple trips to Italy, Argentina, Niagara Falls, Hawaii and Las Vegas. They always enjoyed every holiday and special occasions with their extended family.

Joe was a true car enthusiast purchasing multiple cars throughout his life. He spent endless hours washing, waxing and manicuring his car to perfection. He was always researching his next set of wheels. He also loved music, casinos, and sports especially the Boston Red Sox. He was an avid bargain shopper and stylish dresser. He loved collecting watches and flashlights.

He was predeceased by siblings Maria Trovato, Concetta Labruna, Rosario Contino and Salvatrice Contino. He is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families who will miss him dearly.

Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation on Wednesday December 10th from 9:00 to 10:00 am in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am at St. Bernard's Church at Holy Family Parish, 12 Monument Square, Concord Center. Burial will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Concord.
