Jonathan "Jay" Barr Read, 47, formerly of Concord, passed away unexpectedly on November 6, 2022.

Born in Boston on July 31, 1975, he was the son of Maureen Carrigan Read of Nashua, and the late Truman "Hank" Read. After graduating from UMASS Amherst with a B.A. in English, he led an independent lifestyle, and lived life on his own terms. He enjoyed a good book, a quiet back road, the occasional trivia contest, and even getting lost intentionally. Jay made an impact on all who knew him, and he will be missed.

In addition to his mother, Maureen, Jay is survived by his brother, Patrick K. Read and sister-in-law, Jessica Read, of Lunenburg, MA, along with their children Olivia, Bodie and Henry; and his girlfriend, Boudicca Read, of Acton, MA. Additionally, he is survived by a large extended family and many friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial gathering in his honor on Saturday, November 19th at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord, MA, from 2 to 4 pm, immediately followed by a reception at Concord's Colonial Inn.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
