Attorney John J. "Jack" Sheehan, Jr., 94, lifelong Concord resident, died Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Emerson Hospital in Concord. Born in Concord on September 29, 1916 he was the son of the late John J. Sheehan Sr. and Margaret (Toomey) Sheehan. He attended Peter Bulkeley School, graduated from Concord High School in 1934 and from St. John's Preparatory School in 1935. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Boston College in 1939 and graduated from Boston College Law School in 1942. During World War II, he served as a Corporal in the U. S. Army Air Corps, in the 817th Bombardment Squadron, 483rd Bombardment Group stationed in San Severo, Italy. Following his service in the U. S. Army, Attorney Sheehan began his long career as a Lawyer and a partner in Whitney, Sheehan and Williams Law Firm located on Walden Street in Concord Center. He continued working in private practice in Concord Center, until his retirement in 2001. As a youth, he was a member of the Concord Boy Scouts. A life-long Concord resident, he was a member of the James J. Mansfield American Legion Post of Concord, a longtime usher at St. Bernard's Church, member of the Concord Knights of Columbus, Boston College Alumni Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association. He was a member of the Concord Lions Club for over 55 years where he held every office. He was the recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award in recognition of his outstanding service to Lions International. On January 1, 2011, he received the Monarch Chevron Award for over 55 years of service and was awarded a life membership. At the time of his death he remained active was one of the most senior and longest serving members of the Concord Lions Club. He is survived by his sisters, Alice and Loretta Sheehan, both of Concord, his nephews, John Driscoll and his wife Eileen of Dumfries, Virginia and David Driscoll of Hopewell, Virginia. He was also the brother of the late David and James Sheehan, Mary Driscoll, Catherine Sheehan and Margaret Sheehan. Concord's town flag will fly at half-staff on Wednesday in recognition of Attorney Sheehan's service to his country during World War II.
Cemetery:
Burial will be in the family burial plot in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord where officers of the U. S. Army will present military honors.

Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home will be held on Tuesday, August 2nd from 6 to 8 PM.
Service:
Funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 3rd from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, CONCORD CENTER at 9 AM followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish at St. Bernard's Church, Monument Square, Concord Center at 10 AM.
