John Nagy, age 89, a resident of The Commons in Lincoln, MA, passed away suddenly at his residence on September 28, 2020.
Born on July 20, 1931, in Montreal, Quebec, he was the son of the late Nagy János and Kis Rozália who were both born in Hungary.
John graduated from the High School of Montreal in 1949. He then joined the Air Force Reserves continuing in the Officer Training Program while pursuing his Bachelor of Architecture degree, graduating from McGill University in 1956.
After graduation, John worked for a few Architectural firms, finally forming the partnership Nagy & Leziy from 1961 to 1964. From 1964 onwards, he worked as a Corporate Officer and Senior executive for various companies in the United States and Canada in the field of real estate development. Finally "retiring" in 1986, John continued to work as a consultant.
John was a lifelong learner. When interested in a particular topic, he would thoroughly research it and then enjoyed having lively discussions with anyone on the subject. He was always a professional and eager to teach others, imparting his vast knowledge about many things – namely architecture, of course. He loved photography, reading, art and history.
Surviving family members include his son John E. Nagy of Wichita, Kansas, daughter Charlotte Nagy of Green Valley, Ontario and his grandchildren John and Katherine O'Connell of Montreal, Quebec. John is predeceased by his brother Alexander Nagy of Montreal, Quebec. John's beloved nephew and nieces are Alexander, Julianne and Deborah and sister in law, Violet, all from Montreal, Quebec.
Services and burial will be held at a later date in Montreal.
Arrangements are under the care of Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
