John Richard Lynch, age 93, of Concord, passed away at Care One in Concord on November 24, 2025.

He was born on January 27, 1932 in New York City and grew up in Manhattan and Talladega, Alabama. He served in the Army, and was stationed in Korea, Italy and Austria. Upon his discharge, he returned to the United States and moved to Boston, at which time he began working at Cabot Corporation. Prior to settling in Concord in 1977, he resided in Cambridge. Through his wife, John discovered his true vocation, that of an Academic Librarian. He worked for Harvard University until his retirement in 2001.

John was a lover of opera and was addicted to the New York Times crossword puzzles. He was devoted to the many adopted cats that graced his life over the years.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Florence Lynch of Concord.
